This used to be the name for a daytime TV soap opera. Not sure if there are such things anymore on daytime TV, but in my younger years daily programming was filled with drama and calamity and lots of full-faced stares. Each episode ended with a nail biter, to draw you in for next time.

And recently, my world turned from a whirlwind of calamities, including health scares and other circumstances beyond my control. My head exploded. I often wondered where my mind would go in serious trial… would I fall apart? Would I have the presence of faith and trust? Would I live the “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” verse? Well, I’ll tell you later when I’m through it or in deeper. But, so far, in the midst of a trial, I find myself going to my hiding place. That is, I run to my Father in heaven and hide under the shadow of His wings where I’m now hidden, tucked safely under his arms. I stay still and try not to breathe. I go through the motions of the days, but try not to feel anything too deeply knowing you can only not breath for so long. I push down the troubles and focus on things at hand. Staying productive helps me forget any larger troubles. While I wade in the deep water, I know God loves me and He is good.
And… life marches on. I’m holding fears hostage while doing positive activities. I’m happy to announce that our Wickenburg Arizona Event Committee is planning the 3rd Annual Bucks for Buckaroos to be held November 7. We raised funds last year for Phase 1 of the water plant in Tanzania, the solar irrigation pump and will be getting updates soon. This year’s event will raise funds for Phase 2 of the Water Plant. More on the event and how you can help later…

My busyness also includes doing something every day to help an orphan, taking watercolor classes and painting, learning how to make sour dough, grinding whole almonds for homemade almond butter, juicing lemons for the freezer, baking with the grandkids, and cooking delicious meals. I groom my horse till I can ride her again. Then there’s writing stories like these. So… now I wait. Stay tuned. jh
